Bon appétit – It’s true what they say about the French, they truly do “live to eat” rather than “eat to live”!
There is nothing better than experiencing the food of a different culture. The French Tourism Board is organising a food festival that will celebrate food from the country of love. While it is being celebrated across 150 countries in the world, the festival is being celebrated in India at 65 Star Hotels across 13 cities. Kolkata is Participating with 9 such hotels to serve a bit of France on their palette. On Tuesday, 21st March 2017, They will be celebrating the third annual edition of the great global event, “Goût de France / Good France”: 2000 chefs across 5 continents will dish up, at the same time, a menu featuring gourmet French cuisine (aperitif and canapés, entrée, main course(s), cheese platter, dessert, and French wines and champagnes), making this a must-attend international culinary event at the City of Joy.
As an curtain raiser to this event, the Consulate General of France in Calcutta organized a tasting and a press conference yesterday in the Consulate Garden with the nine participating restaurants in Calcutta.

Nowhere is this more apparent than in their celebration of food and wine which appears to be never ending with a multitude of events throughout the world. Events to celebrate gastronomy vary from the weird and wonderful to the highly sophisticated where everyone is welcome to taste, eat, join in the fun and celebrate French gastronomic treasures.
