Located at a slight distance from Kolkata this restaurant has been around for many years and the reason is no secret. You are treated like family and the service is impeccable. The different meals all have their own unique qualities and character, which is often missed. The somewhat unprepossessing entrance and the busy take away activity do not substantially detract from the dining experience. This is some of the best Indian food you can find here in this area of Sodepur. Placed just opposite to Panihati College. The conventional dishes (Reshmi Kabab,Tandoori Masala), the tandoori chicken succulent and perfectly spiced, the naan baked to an optimal crispy surface without any doughy stodge in the centre) are well assembled. The ingredients were top quality and all was cooked to perfection. Most of all the dishes were spectacular, a perfect synthesis of medium hot spices and herbs, combined so that the individual flavours were not subsumed in the fires of the curry.
The Dishes we had :
Grilled Pomfret –
Grilled Fish to me, and its Pomfret always comes to my mind. Tandoori Pomfret is a delicious fish delight. Here the fish marinated with tandoori spices and then grill in the oven. Resulting really juicy and scrumptious grilled fish. The way one can pack in a heavy punch with this Fishy Delight, is beyond comparison. Loved the crispy outside and soft inside of fish. Very well as appetizer.
Grilled bhetki – Bhetki is a popular fish in Bengal. This Grilled Fish Indian Recipe has all the indian flavours and spices which makes is so yummy. The spices just penetrate deep into the fish and makes it more tasty. I loved the each bite of it. Treat your taste buds to this spicy, delicious Grilled Bhetki , juicy and succulent from inside and beautifully charred on the outside.
Naan is a soft and pillowy Indian-style flatbread traditionally made in a tandoor, or cylindrical clay oven. Freshly baked naan had an authentic look and taste.
Tandoori Chicken Masala –
If you love Indian food, you’re probably familiar with Tandoori Chicken masala, which appears on most Indian restaurant menus. This chicken dish with its creamy, aromatic tomato sauce originated as a way to use up tandoori-roast chicken sauce. It had a signature smell and a sight of bright red colour.
Kashmiri Pulao –Kashmiri Pulao is a very color full and fancy pulao. Unlike other pulaos, this one is less spicy, orangish and sweetish owing to the presence of fruits. Quantity of pulao was too much also it has toppings of dry fruits. It was fabulous especially the Raisin and cashew nuts in rice smell superb.
Chicken Reshmi Kabab – Chicken reshmi kabab had that succulent and melt-in-mouth texture which was sure to knock us out! Kebabs are unquestionably my best choice of food at any given day. I loved the smoky flavors of spices which the meats adapt while being grilled . Was delicious and melt in the mouth tender.
Chicken Biriyani –
Chicken Biryani is the most ordered and liked rice preparation in India. No Introduction needed. For me there can be no love than Biryani love! The one craziest stuff that makes me go super crazy for. Biryani, no matter mutton or chicken, is my utter most favorite dish. Here we had a traditional Awadhi Biryani cooked in Dum style.
Barbecue chicken –
We had almost perfect moist, juicy perfection, smothering chicken in BBQ Sauce with added Honey. Are you ready for this deliciousness? I loved the way they get so gooey and sticky.Seriously, they were so crave-worthy. I really liked the contrast of the slightly spicy chicken with the sharpness of the sauce they have used.
Prawn dry fry –
This is a classic Cantonese dish. Prawns are everyone’s favorite food. An easy yet delicious recipe for prawns lovers. Try this stir-frying prawns for a quick and satisfying dish. Another interesting item in the lunch. Absolutely delicious with the best ingredients. Succulent prawns fried served hot. These crispy prawns were taste great.
Egg fried rice – An easy and delicious one-pot-meal recipe, Egg Fried Rice is not just tasty but also a filling and scrumptious dish. It used vegetables that give it a crunch and colour. This delicious but simple egg fried rice was a filling and endlessly customizable staple that doesn’t disappoint you.
Mix hakka noodles –
This noodles stir fried with chicken, prawn & vegetable flavoured with chinese sauce. All time Favorite noodles mixed with colorful veggies and sauce is absolutely simple and tasty. This yummy Hakka Noodles is perfect as a snacks or main course both.
I would certainly recommend this restaurant, it was not just a great meal, but a great hospitality too. Overall a pleasant meal. Whilst expensive compared to an average local take-away, the food is much better is very good value for menu.
