Take Me Home, Country Roads
– John Denver
Country Roads , fantastic microbrewery, relatively new, people working there are always with a smile and keen to help you out. A huge place that serves North Indian, Chinese, Continental (focused mainly on bar food) and German, Belgian and Scottish beer that they brew on premise. The atmosphere is really cosy, there is a nice selection of beers and the plates we tasted were extremely good. The food is very good, comes in big dishes and nice presented on the plates. Popular with young crowds, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
This is a place of beer, friends and a good ol’ blues and rock in the background (not loud, just the exact volume to have a good conversation).
The beers – nice and tingling on the tongue, bit bitter with sweetness.A lot of attention has been taken in all aspects of the experience, in addition to the obvious – the beer – and I could not fault it in any way! Each beer is unique and worthy of praise and more importantly taste.
The Dishes We Had :
Oriental Noodles – Oriental noodles have been consumed for thousands of years and remain an important part in the diet of many Asians.Delicious stir fry noodles infused with a combination of Oriental spices. It was a delicious and flavorful dish with lots of veggies and a hint of garlic flavour. Delighted to have such tasty veg dish.
Lawrence Chicken – This was super flavorful, charred, and smoky. Grilled Chicken breasts and legs, not at all over burned, served with Green Pudina Chutney. Had incredible depth of flavor. Once you started it was hard to stop.
SS Mustard Chicken – Chicken grilled in honey and mustard sauce. I could eat just about any type of grilled chicken, but especially loved this recipe! This platter was very simple but had tons of flavor. I LOVED every single ingredient in this recipe, a must try for sure! Thanks for serving this, it certainly deserves the love!
Haryali Paneer Tikka – Served sizzling Paneer ( Indian Cottage Cheese) cooked in flavored green masala by making delicious Hariyali Paneer Tikka Kebab. It is one of the quick and tasty kebab recipes. The name hariyali is given because of its rich greenish color. Green paneer really brought water in everyone’s mouth. We just could not wait to taste it.
Nasi Goreng – meaning “rice, fried” is a a popular household and hawker food stall dish in Indonesia and Malaysia and is often eaten for breakfast. This dish was characterised by its savoury paste and sweet, sticky soy sauce called. It was topped with an one sunny side up egg.
Yakitori – Yakitori is grilled skewered chicken dipped in a Teriyaki-like sauce. A dish of small pieces of boneless chicken, usually marinated, skewered, and grilled. It is a very popular appetizer at bar-type restaurants in Japan. Yakitori could be a dish at your dinner table, but it is more like the food you eat with drinks at bars.
Laziz Tangri – Stuffed chicken Drumstick marinated with chef special spices. It is a famous street food of India specially Lucknow, Delhi and Hyderabad . It is marinated and traditionally grilled in charcoal ovens. Stuffed one is an interesting variation of the original recipe. The chicken legs are marinated, stuffed and baked in a way that they are subtly spiced but very flavorful, juicy and melt in the mouth.
California Fried Chicken – Chicken breast marinated with herbs and corn flakes deep fried. Crunchy on the outside and moist in the center, this chicken was presented in a combination of perfect flavour and colour, plus the whole meal looks very appealing! Pinching!
Golden Fried Prawn – Deep batter fried prawn served with ht Garlic sauce. Deep fried deshelled medium sized prawns gently seasoned with spices and batter was a perfect partner for our dinner. It was a simple yet very luscious dish made with prawns.
Wok Fried Fish – Well marinated fish pan fried tossed with bell pepper. Fried fish with sweet chilli sauce is a great stir-fry for a perfect appetizer. The tangy sauce with red chili was well-balanced and tastes great.
Country Special Non Veg Platter –
The Lawrence Chicken- This was super flavorful, charred, and smoky Grilled Chicken.
Makhmali Seekh Kebab – Skewered in Minced Mutton roll clay over grilled.
Chicken Wings – Marinated Chicken Wings in special house sauce.
Deep Fried Calamari (Squid) – .Crispy and perfectly seasoned fried calamari. Some good old fashioned flour and seasoning mix have done the trick for it!
Finally I would say the prices were logical. So overall Country Roads is certainly a place worth visiting and I hope they keep up the quality of their services!!!!!!!! We thoroughly enjoyed the show, atmosphere, food and beer here.Staff are knowledgeable and friendly and be assured that this is an extremely popular spot, so settle in early.
