We could not have been more pleased with the attention to detail. The location is also excellent for exploring the beautiful city of Kolkata by spending least amount of time to travel from Airport.
The history of the hotel is very unique and interesting. This place offers a very relaxing and peaceful atmosphere after a hard day’s work on the job.

It was my first visit to Social Kitchen after attending Grand Launching Party here in Hotel Holiday Inn on 3rd Feb, 2017.Enjoyed a great meal from buffet spread. And later on few dishes from the ala carte. A great day for CONNOISSEUR like us.

Squid & Pokchoy – Pok Choy is one of the most popular leaf vegetables in China, where it has been cultivated for centuries.I adore squid! I have no problem with its smell . And this salad looks gorgeous and fresh !!!
Potato & Bacon Salad – Potato salad with bacon is a delicious twist on a traditional summer side. You can’t go wrong with bacon, and this presentation is just over the top. Lime juice and a pile of paprika had given the dish a touch of spice and it’s a pretty nod to a saliva. They were looking great in table, ready for us to take a bite.
Melon Cocktail Salad – Savoring cool, silky sweet pieces of cold melon is a delicious way to melt away summer’s heat.A refreshing salad indeed.
Beetroot Onion with Feta – Slice of the beetroot and onion slices scattered over the beetroot. Crumbled feta over the salad. I loved the boldness of it, the color, the texture and the almost earthy taste!

Onion confit Salad – This is an extremely versatile dish. Let your imagination run wild.
Russian Salad – The flavour and texture of the Russian Salad was quite different from the other standard salads, as parboiled veggies had been used rather than raw ones. It is unique and healthy salad in its own ways by using fresh vegetables, fresh fruits and yogurt based dressing. This was really a tempting and mouthwatering one.
Carrot Hummus – Bright, beautiful carrots give this dip its gorgeous hue, while a pinch of paprika adds a slight kick of spice.
Baba Ganoush – An amazing roasted eggplant dip. A dip with smoky roasted eggplant, tahini, garlic, lemon, olive oil and spices.
Pasta & Bellpepper with Basil Mayo – Plenty of fresh bell peppers and of course a good amount of basil for this pasta salad. It’s light, simple and full of color. Packed a punch with different flavors and combinations.Addition of bright basil mayonnaise that makes every bite taste like a mouthful of summer.
Zero KM Bean Sprout Salad – All things ‘beany’, especially bean sprouts is very popular in oriental cuisine. Bean sprout salad is a tongue-tickling salad of bean sprouts and red capsicum tossed with a tangy and crunchy sauce of garlic, red chillies, soy sauce and garnished with fresh spring onions.

Chicken Biriyani – Chicken Biryani is the most ordered and liked rice preparation in India. Does not need any introduction to this evergreen delirious dish. A sumptuous chicken biriyani that is cooked with such precision that you are bound to make this dish again and again to relish the delicate flavours.
Prawn in Trio Pepper – This is probably my favourite prawn pepper curry i have ever tasted. So delicious. It really takes on the prawn flavour very well with combination of trio bell pepper which is not only adding its essence also providing the dish a bright colour.
Grilled Fish in Lemon Butter Sauce – A wonderful and flavorful dish that you can have with steamed rice. Loved the fact that the fish was tender and crisp which i like. Didn’t care for the sauce to much lemon to tart.
Rarra Gosht – Mutton steeped in gravy of spicy mince, soaked with rare spices, Rarra Gosht is every bit regal in taste. It was a delicious spicy dish and rich in appearance. Here Mutton was thoroughly cooked so that we did not face any difficulty to cut those juicy mutton pieces with fork and knife.
Tangra Style Chicken – An Indo-Chinese variant of the popular Chinese dish, from the renowned restaurants of China Town in Calcutta.Boneless batter fried chicken chunks in a thick fiery soy sauce gravy with fried onions, bell peppers and green chilies.

Vegeratable Biriyani – Conjured an aromatic, meaty, Awadhi dum Biryani. Topped with fried onions. Fragrant, flavorful Biriyani, high on the flavour of spices but low on heat!
Steamed Rice – Steamed Basmati rice is considered a staple food in India. It was nicely presented over banana leaf.
Yellow Dal Tadka – Simple yet full of flavors, This Punjabi Dal Fry is a common dish made throughout the homes and served in all restaurants and dhabas with their own variations.
Paneer Makhani – Paneer prepared in the tandoori style and simmered in an authentic & richly-spiced sauce. Vegetarian. All natural. This North Indian favorite can be enjoyed with tandoori naan or parathas!
Bhindi Masala – Bhindi Masala is a delectable North Indian specialty, immensely popular across the entire sub-continent. I love Bhindi, and combined with an East Indian spice blend (masala), it took on a whole new life of its own.
Dum Aloo Banarsi – The Banarasi style of making it. Dum Aloo is a popular Indian entree that is served with flatbreads, rice, papad and raita. This is a rich preparation made with whole and ground spices, tomatoes, cashews and fresh cream.

Stir Fried Vegetables – Delicious and simple, I loved it! The vegetables turned out nice and bright and were very crisp. Carrots, water chestnuts, baby corn, broccoli, mushroom and garlic, green onions. A whole lots of veggies. This gorgeous, luscious stir-fry will knock your socks off!
Hookme Noodles – The noodles tossed with garlic, mushroom and lots of vegetables. Simple yet flavorful.
Desserts
French Opera – A modern take on a French classic, this decadent Opera cake was rich, chocolatey, and packed with espresso flavour.
Pineapple Pastry – Sponge layered with cream and chopped pineapple topped with whipped cream makes for this rich and smooth pineapple pastry.
Fresh Kiwi Tart – The pastry stayed together well but was delicate and crumbled upon eating. A luscious cream cheese filling similar to cheesecake is baked up in a tart pan and topped with fresh kiwi.
Mango Baked Yogurt – Delicious chilled dessert made with a combination of yogurt, cream, condensed milk and mango puree.
Black Forest Shooter – If you like the taste of chocolate cake, this is a great dessert drink. You’ll enjoy every sip. Classy, stylish, and adorable, this dessert shooter would be perfect for any celebration !
Blueberry Cheese Cake – Rich, velvety cheesecake combined with plump, ultra sweet blueberries makes for one of the most delectable desserts.

After having our lunch we had enjoyed a light session with my fellow friends, few photoshoot here and there. Few glasses of cold drinks. Had a nice afternoon. Then comes few irresistible dishes of Chef’s choice from the ala carte menu as my fellow friends (Bloggers) and me were invited there over a food tasting session.
The Dishes We Had :
Caesar Salad – Lettuce, Croutons, Bacon, shaved parmesan tossed with anchovies dressing. Served with grilled chicken. Combination of the wonderful flavors of grilling with this classic salad. It turned out to be an excellent fusion of flavors. The grilled chicken were simply amazing. There’s just nothing quite like the smokiness that grilling imparts to food.
Assorted Non Veg Kebab Platter – Chef’s choice of Prawn, Fish, Lamb, Chicken.
Tandoori Jhinga – clay oven roasted Bay of Bengal prawn marinated in Indian spices. So fresh and perfectly cooked, the large prawns were succulent. I would highly recommend this dish.
Gilafi Seekh Kebab – Barbequed mince mutton with cashew nuts and Indian Spices. This is highly recommended for any meat lover. Now this is absolutely amazing. Can get a bit messy, but who cares, the large bit was there to protect my clothes.
Kasundi Mahi Tikka – Kolkata Bhetki in kasundi mustard marinade, charcoal grilled. For a fish lover, this dish gets top marks, the delicately spiced fish, charcoal grilling is giving it a very smokey and rich flavour. Just melts away in a bite.
Classic Murgh Tikka – chicken morsels marinated Indian spices and cooked in clay oven. It is certainly a succulent, aromatic and scrumptious appetizer. With a squeeze of lemon juice it tastes like heaven.
Murgh Malai Kebab – chicken morsels in a spiced yogurt and cashew nut marinade, charcoal grilled. Chicken comes with tender texture. This is delicious and mouth-watering. No one can eat just One !!
Assorted Veg Kebab Platter – Chef’s choice of Paneer, Mushroom, Babycorn, Broccoli and Potato.
Paneer Achari Tikka – Cottage cheese marinated in traditional Indian pickling spices,cooked in clay oven. Capsicum and onions are delicately marinated in a aachar (pickle) was giving tickling taste.
Sukhlal Badami Aloo – Potatoes filled with Peshawari nuts & Mediterranean couscous, baked in clay oven. It’s smooth and nutty flavour is perfect to take away your attention from many Non Veg dishes.
Tandoori Malai Broccoli – Broccoli marinated in cheddar cheese, baked in clay oven. It is one of the spicy finger licking food . Cheese and all spices makes it yummy with rich flavour and nice taste.
Bharwan Tandoori Kumbh – Mildly spiced marinated mushroom encased with cheese cooked in clay oven. Mushrooms are one of my favourite fungi – sounds yuck? These lovely bite-sized tandoor cooked button mushroom stuffed with cheese and spices were delicately succulent and flavoursome.
Hara Bhara Kebab – Grilled Bengal gram and spinach patties stuffed with cheese. A vegetarian nutritious snack full of aromatic spices. An eye-appealing starter patty with bright color, crispy bite and smooth texture.
Makai Methi Seekh – Irresistible combination of golden corn and kasoorimethi. skewered and cooked in clay oven. A very simple and an extremely delicious recipe. This is a perfect evening snack option.. They look great and they taste even better. I tried it for the first time and they came out absolutely delicious. It’s a sure shot winner.
Nasi Goreng – Indonesian specialty rice served with chicken satay and peanut butter sauce. Nasi Goreng is just an exotic name for Fried Rice…so we hear! But it is amazing how the flavor is different for other Fried Rice. Served with all the salty, sweet, spiced flavours of Asia and topped with a sunny-side-up egg. Had a great depth of flavour thanks to an aromatic killer sauce.
Chicken Dim Sum – There’s nothing better than a steaming basket of fresh dim sum to share with friends. I fell in love with this stuff! It’s basically a steamed dumpling with meat stuffing inside.
Wok Fried Chicken Noodles – Succulent chicken pieces cooked in a soy sauce, ginger and garlic gravy and stir fried with fresh crunchy vegetables. Delicious!
Teriyaki Chicken – Chicken in Teriyaki marinade, pan grilled. Definitely a classic meal that’s always a crowd pleaser. Bite-sized pieces of chicken breasts along with few bell peppers stir fried in Teriyaki Sauce finished with Wine.
Philadelphia Cheese Cake – It was a moist creamy delicious cheesecake. Everyone enjoyed it.
Social Kitchen, at Hotel Holiday Inn has to be a recent memorable culinary discovery for me in Kolkata. If there is anything I would highly recommended, it would be this All Day Dining restaurant , for its highly acclaimed cuisine of various Frontier of the Globe. Lots of choices of lamb, Chicken and Fish. Service is Elegant. Food is out of this world. Had a great afternoon which ended in a much more eventful evening. Good Food, Lovely Ambiance, Relaxing Atmosphere, Friendly Staffs.
