The Melting Point – let’s get flirty

“What can I do right now to bring a smile to your face?”

Yes,  you heard it right ! Melting point can easily bring smile to your hard heating hunger in very pocket friendly prices. Finding this place is easy, as it is located bang on Greek Church Row, Kalighat, a few metres from Greek Orthdox Church. Fastfood joints can flatter to deceive, as some of the fabled places have turned out to be utterly disappointing !  But this was not the case here ! A very recently opened venture from Mr. Aveek Chatterjee. A small joint mainly looking forward to provide take away service though few chairs are available to have your food here only ! So we went in here not knowing what to expect. Service is quick. Food is readied within minutes.

“There is no sincerer love than the love for food and as they say, Kolkata will never disappoint food lovers. Kolkata- the Cultural Capital of India is a heaven for foodies If you are in the mood to tantalize your taste buds, fall in love with Kolkata all over again, find your excuse to ditch that diet, or are struggling to find what more does this city has on its menu then my fellow foodie u should definitely visit “Melting Point”. As my friends and family always say, I can compromise on anything but never in taste. My love for authentic and good food along with a long cherished dream of opening up a restaurant finally got materialized in the form of “Melting Point”. From Tongue to stomach, to heart that’s what our slogan is. As the name says, Melting point will melt your heart with its quality food and taste. It is a takeaway counter located behind the Kalighat tram depot. It has been started with the mantra of serving good quality food without compromising on taste. Our product quality is of paramount importance for us. We have a varied food menu which includes North Indian, Chinese and definitely for which my heart beats, Bengali dishes (Many more dishes to join the menu soon). We use top quality ingredients and cook it to perfection. We have a plan to come up with more such outlets in various parts of Kolkata by this year end so that people can enjoy more and more.

I always had a long cherished desire of opening up a restaurant which materialise in the form of ” The Melting Point ”  at its very nescent state. I aim to serve food in varied flavours at a justified price . i have an innovative mind which drive me for a continuous improvisation of my dishes. I have opened up my counter cum restaurant , behind Kalighat tram Depot where I would be able to cater a whole lot of customers. Looking forward to my dreams and working harder to meet peoples expectations with more tongue twisters.

The Dishes We Had :

Chicken Pakora – The name itself is enough to make us salivate. It is a very popular and common Indian snack. A Spicy crispy snacks are part and parcel of Indian cuisine. Spicy pakora with chicken flavor in each bites  is a must try recipe for a lovely evening here. These ingredients are perfectly collaborated to give this chicken chunks a perfect crispy delicious taste. Chicken Steamed Momo – Delicious things come in small packages. It is a non-vegetarian Tibetan dish famous as a street food snack which has become hugely famous in Kolkata in last decade. Dumplings filled with a spiced minced chicken  and then steamed – a delicious healthy snack. IMG_0208

Chicken Pan fried Momo – The fried version of Chicken Momo.  The tasty spicy sauce provided additional flavor to the delicious Momos. These deep fried, crispy hot momos promise a perfect crunch as soon as you take a bite.IMG_0226

Chicken Sausage – The stir fried chicken sausage with pepper and onions.  “Sausage and peppers or something…”. So from those extremely flavourful ingredients this dish turned up pretty  good to bring smile on your face, IMG_0190

Mughlai Parantha – A  popular street food in Kolkata.  A synonymous with Bengali street food not only today but from many decades. It is deep fried bread stuffed with egg, onion, chillies and red beans. Served with Sabji (Aloo) , salad & some sauces.   Absolutely delicious Crispy parathas of golden texture stuffed with juicy and succulent filling. IMG_0197

Egg Chicken Noodles Hakka – Hakka Noodles is a delicious Indian version of Chinese recipe served as a main. Tossed with garlic, prawn, mushroom, chicken, eggs and lots of vegetables. The combination of all ingredients make it more appetizing. The usage of sauces in adequate quantity gave this noodles an authentic flavor & signature taste and texture. IMG_0236

Dry Chili Chicken – If there is one thing common in most menu in Kolkata,  it’s got be Chilli Chicken. Succulent chicken coated in a thick batter and fried until crisp.  I love Chilli Chicken the dry way. This was a well flavored , quick, easy and satisfying chicken dish. IMG_0218

The restaurant has an unattractive look. However, the quality of the food compensated everything. Food was awesome but still there is a lot of area of improvement. The portions were enough to give you smile. It did leave us in good mood and I will ensure that I visit this place once again! Overall definitely value for money. Recommended for an evening quick bite.

Thank you Mr. Aveek Chatterjee, onwer for invitation !!
