You have to ride it to experience it !
I am really late to pen down this ride due to heavy workload during Puja and along with Food tasting Invitation in various Hotel and Restaurants !
RED XPRESS RESTAURANT CUM LOUNGE, previously known as Red Hot Chilli Pepper, a fine dining place located in Tech Hub of our city. The place is very conveniently located. The entrance is nice and inviting. One of the promising places serving both Chinese and north Indian delicacies. Their culinary skills were well proven by the lip smacking experience we had during our dining experience. Interiors are done very beautifully and in an eye catching way. It has a huge sitting area which can accommodate almost 50 head counts with a bar just decked up in the left of the entrance. The interior is done keeping in mind the woods; the artificial fireplace set up is the thing which catches the more attention. Dimly lit lights in the evening will give a perfect mood for candle light dinner. Was pleasantly surprised to see this place which is totally underrated by all means ! Its time for you guys to dine out and take the good food ride.
Along with the beautifully decorated interior, it is having a greenery entrance full of grass and a small garden type area where you can comedown and spend some leisure moments in between your ride at Red Express which is tough to experience in City of Joy. All in all this was a pleasant experience worth recommending to others.
Coming to the gastronomic journey, we tried both their Chinese and Indian section and it did not fail to impress our taste buds.
Let’s take a view of all the delicacies enjoyed by us.
FRESH LIME SODA:
We were welcomed with this after coming from the scorching sun and it was really soothing. The lime content was as needed.
STARTERS
CRISPY CHILLI BABYCORN
The crispiness as the name says was justified. Babycorns deep fried and slightly tossed in sauce. The saucy texture and the crisp were perfect for the dish.
PAN FRIED CHILLI FISH
Ah ! Those soft chunks of basa just melts in mouth, this means the fish was fresh. Marinated pieces of basa, pan fried slightly in some sauce.
STIR FRIED EXOTIC VEGETABLES
Exclusive starter and tasted really different. Fresh exotic vegetables like baby corns, cabbage, bell pepper, mushrooms etc. tossed in less oil and almost no spice. Really an exotic one, I agree.
MURGH RESHMI KEBAB
This comes from their north indian section. The kebab were soft and succulent, marinated with curd, cream, some indian spices and cashew nuts and grilled till perfection.
MAINCOURSE
EGG WRAPPED FRIED RICE
A mains from the chinese section. It is fried rice which comes wrapped in folded egg crepe. The fried rice being veg was going well the fried egg crepe.
HAKKA NOODLES
Hakka noodle is favourite for almost many and a must to order from the chinese section. Beautiful long strands of noodles tossed and added with some vegetables. The taste was good and as expected.
HUNAN CHICKEN
A shredded chicken recipe with a white gravy based. Taste was subtle with not much of spices; the gravy was accompanied with vegetables too. This will go with any chinese mains.
VEG PULAO
Veg pulao is a popular Indian mains. The rice was perfectly cooked added with some peas, the aroma of ghee (clarified butter) was strong and dominant, which made the dish more flavoursome.
MUTTON ROGANJOSH
Coming from the Indian Section again; this is a dish to relish with the veg pulao. Mutton pieces cooked in indian style with spicy indian spices. This dish was heaven for me and would be loved by all mutton lovers.
DESSERT
DARSAAN WITH ICE CREAM
Crispy fried sugar coated flour strips topped with sesame, served with vanilla ice cream. A must recommended dessert, with sweet content very proportionate and not too high.
COCKTAILS
Cocktails were good enough and can be given a try. We were helped with Blue Lagoon, Cosmopolitan, Mojito and Ginger Bed. Blue Lagoon was okayish in taste; I loved the Mojito and Cosmopolitan and surely will try again. The Ginger Bed was dominant of ginger flavour. So GINGER ALERT.
