A small little gem which in literal sense means gem; this place is all set to give a tough competition to all its competitors here in Kolkata. The quality and quantity served here is par excellence and the price tagged is the thing one will love the most. Overdose is making its name for all the good reasons.
Situated in the heart of the city, Desapriya Park; this place can easily place 16-18 heads under one roof comfortably. Decorated with dimly lit interiors, the aura of this place suits the place very well. A perfect get together place for a date with some foodgasmic experience.
Now coming to the food; their menu has some delectable options of Chinese and Asian cuisine. The food which we tried was:
‘SOUPS’
LUNG FUNG SOUP: Frothy thick clear soup with minced mushroom; perfect for winter chilly evenings. The egg white froth was the unique concept and the because of this the soup was more palatable.
TOM YUM SOUP: Spicy, flavoursome and hot; an evening cannot be better without having this. Perfect in taste, texture and flavours.
‘STARTERS’
SHANGHAI DUMPLINGS: Steamed dumplings stuffed with chicken and served with sesame chilli oil; too soft which just melted in my mouth.
SEAFOOD SUIMAI: Suimai being our traditional authentic chinese dumplings; accompanied with sesame chilli oil again, the dumplings were stuffed with prawn and excelled in taste.
CRISPY HONEY FRIED WANTON: The deep fried crisp crust outside and soft chicken filings inside topped with honey. Perfect combination of crisp, crunchy, soft, sweet and mildly spicy.
LAT ME KAI: Boneless chicken pieces pan tossed with sauce and some spices. Apt appetizers to opt for always; the cubical chicken pieces were coated crisp outside and softer inside, taste buster it is.
‘MAIN COURSE’
OVERDOSE SPECIAL RICE: One full meal it is; rice served with chicken, mushroom and vegetables tossed in spices and sauce. One can take this as a whole meal and surely will suffice one easily.
OVERDOSE SPECIAL NOODLES: Classic authentic chicken and egg wok tossed noodles; full long strands of noodles done perfectly with required flavours.
CHICKEN WITH PAKCHOY: This came in white gravy with pakchoy; shredded pieces of chicken done perfectly in mild flavours. My personal favourite being the healthier dish with less oil and spices.
CORIANDER FISH: Fish in green gravy; chunks of basa prepared in coriander gravy. Coriander being very flavoursome made the outstandingly delicious.
Thanks to Rajdeep Seth for invitation and being such true host as always!!
