The devotion to the subject of food, and eating out, is heartwarming.
I did not know anything about La Cucina until last night when I arrived in Hyatt Regency Kolkata for an invitation from Chef De Cuisine Maitreya Sen at around 7pm . I stumbled upon and the whole experience was great.
The interior is very nicely appointed in an eclectic style flawlessly combining open kitchen space with high end furnishings.
Service was truly high end, attentive and friendly without familiarity.
I think those that are not rating this as a 5 are either having ulterior motives or perhaps the wrong patrons for this kind of experience.
And I stress the word experience, because La Cucina is not just a restaurant to go get a meal.
It is an experience that requires patrons to also be prepared and interested for what it has to offer.
The service is beyond phenomenal – a big shout out to Chef Maitreya Sen who took care of us and was super professional to the extent of very politely and caringly asking us of our preference !
His preparations were excellent across each of the courses.
Insalata with burrata smoked almond and vegetables –
Gratinated warm asparagus with blue cheese fondue and caramelised onion –
Pizza dellacassa – Pizza of the house ; Authentically hand rolled pizza with sun-dried tomato, jalapeño, pesto, roasted garlic on top

Truffle scented mixed mushroom risotto –
Pan-fried salmon with tomato tartar and Asparagus with potato puree –
Melting Chocolate Tart served with vanila Ice Cream –
